Harry Potter - the boy who lived - is the only survivor of the Killing Curse; he destroys Voldemort's powers, when he is only one year old. He faces him again at the age of 11. His only living relatives are Vernon, Petunia, and Dudley Dursley, though his godfather is Sirius Black, the renowned murderer. Harry owns an Invisibility Cloak, the Marauder's Map, and a Sneakoscope. His best friends are Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley, and his school rival is Draco Malfoy. He is as innocent as he was when his parents died, but less prone to incessant wailing. He is altruistic and headstrong, and laughs in the face of danger. James Potter was one of the best modern wizards and Harry Potter's father. He and his wife, Lily, were killed by Voldemort at Halloween, 1981. He was an illegal stag Animagus, and his nickname was Prongs. He contributed to the making of the Marauder's Map, owned an Invisibility Cloak, and was best friends with Sirius Black, Remus Lupin, and Peter Pettigrew. Lily Potter was one of the best modern witches. She died to save her son, Harry, thereby giving him the protection he needed to survive the Killing Curse and destroy Voldemort's powers. Her maiden name was Evans.
